Adult Immunization Services Now Offered At Sulphur Community Clinic
The Sulphur Community Clinic of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital recently added new services to its current services for community members. Adult vaccines are now available for adults 18 years and older. Vaccines available for this population include:
• Tdap – tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis
• Hepatitis A
• Hepatitis B
According to Christa O’Neal, service coordinator, vaccinations shouldn’t stop during adolescence. “It’s widely held that only babies and school age children should receive vaccines to ward off common sickness and disease; however, adults need them, too,” she said. “Vaccines received as a child can wear off, and if an adult hasn’t gotten vaccinated once again for some of these diseases, they may once again be at risk,” said O’Neal.
Adult immunizations are provided each Tuesday from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Sulphur Community Clinic, and on Thursdays by appointment only. The Sulphur Community Clinic is located at 301 S. Cities Service Highway in Sulphur. For more information, please call (337) 527-6416.
