Preparing for Delivery and Breastfeeding

This class will prepare you for delivery, your hospital stay and getting to know your baby in the weeks to follow. These tips and preparation tools will give you a great start with your baby beginning with your delivery experience and expectations. This session will also include time for one-on-one questions with a certified lactation counselor and childbirth educator to address any specific concerns or interests. Evidence is clear that certain techniques promote a strong bond between mother and baby and boost the health of the baby.
This session will discuss these techniques, which include:
- Benefits of skin to skin contact
- Feeding baby on cue
- Keeping baby close
- Breastfeeding education
- Support team
- Comfort measures
