Breastfeeding Foundations

This class will prepare you for delivery, your hospital stay and getting to know your baby in the weeks to follow. These tips and preparation tools along with the basics of breastfeeding, will give you a great start with your baby beginning with your delivery experience and expectations. This session will also include time for one-on-one questions with a certified lactation counselor and childbirth educator for any specific concerns or interests.

Evidence is clear that certain techniques promote a strong bond between mother and baby and boost the health of the baby. The following techniques are discussed in the class:

• Keeping Baby Close
• Breastfeeding Education
• Support Team
• Comfort Measures

This class is held monthly on a Tuesday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the WCCH North Conference Room near the Cypress Street Lobby. A class fee of $10 may apply.
