West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) is proud to be leading the way in advanced heart care in Southwest Louisiana. The skill of our cardiologists, the experience and compassion of our nurses, and a facility that houses the most modern equipment found locally, allows patients access to both interventional and non-invasive cardiac procedures close to home.
Interventional procedures for cardiac conditions such as heart attack, arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), or peripheral arterial disease (buildup of plaque in the arteries) are utilized on a daily basis in our cardiac catheterization laboratory to save precious heart muscle. Interventional procedures performed by our team include:
- Angioplasty/Stent Placement
- Peripheral Atherectomy Procedures
- Pacemaker and Defibrillator Implantation
Non-invasive cardiac procedures available on an outpatient basis include:
- Stress Tests
- Ankle Brachial Index Testing
- Holter Monitoring
- Tilt Table Testing
Our team also works to help patients understand their risk of cardiovascular disease prior to the occurrence of a cardiac event. By utilizing advanced cardiac screening imaging techniques such as Cardiac CT, we can provide patients with a 10 year outlook on their risk of a heart attack, as well as actually visualize your heart as it is beating.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Center at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) provides progressive exercise and education, with medical supervision, to individuals who have experienced a recent cardiac event. Our team is comprised of registered nurses and other qualified health care personnel who work together to ensure continuity of care for these patients.
Goals of the rehabilitation team include: increasing each patient’s exercise tolerance, reducing risk factors for heart disease, and educating patients on healthy lifestyle changes that will promote improved cardiovascular fitness. Our program meets the guidelines set forth by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as well as those of the Joint Commission. For more information on our program, please call (337) 527-4121.
